Chhorri has based on Furia’s Marathi actual Lapachhapi. I haven’t caught the Marathi film, but I wonder if it had equal third-act issues like this one. If it did, then it makes no sense for Furia to have not switched things up, and if it didn’t, then it would mean that Furia, in fact, actually Chhorii by creating it worse. It’s a lose-lose condition.

While it might attack the same concerns as Roman Polanski’s classic Chhorii has also about female freedom and has a scene in which a woman is violated during an occult ritual. It accomplishes just duplicating those themes for a desi audience. It is, instead, an adequate translation. But since nobody is going to get that Chhorii has basically a Rosemary’s Baby remake, it can’t respect for existing one of the better examples of one.
